Prompt: Describe a real moment in your life that felt like the beginning of a powerful story. Tell what happened, and why it felt like a turning point in your life?

Response:

A moment in my life that felt like the beginning of a powerful story was when I started to get better and more confident in lacrosse. For my whole life, I was very scared and unconfident in a lot of aspects of my life; lacrosse was a big part of this. It affected how I played and made me a scared and hesitant player. When I started to break through those mental blocks and get more confident and not scared to get hit when playing, it helped so much. Not only in lacrosse but all aspects of my life, I had a newfound confidence and was no longer scared to try new things and get out of my comfort zone.

Summary:

Gaining confidence in lacrosse gave me confidence in all aspects of my life and helped me to achieve things I never thought I could.

Reflection:

I think that my lack of confidence in my life stems from never trying new things out of my comfort zone as a kid. I had strong mental blocks preventing me from doing so in the future, and when I broke those down in lacrosse, they also broke in other aspects of life.
